The age of the domain is also important, why for example would a search engine like google give a new site a higher serps position than a site which has been around for three years. That new site may not even be around this time next year as many webmasters do not even renew their sites after one year. For this reason it is also a good idea to buy your domain for perhaps five years instead of just one as it shows that you have good intentions etc. It is also cheaper in the long run.

I decided to stick to the common forms of web promotion such as article marketing, gaining one-way links and ensuring that the content of my website was content that other webmasters would want to link to.
