Affiliate Marketing - Beware of the Traffic Pitfall
The explosion of growth in the Internet during the past few years has led to a number of money-making opportunities that didn’t previously exist. One of the more successful is affiliate marketing, where the seller of a product offers financial incentives to others to promote his or her products for them. If a customer buys, both the seller and the promoter, known as an affiliate, makes money. A very successful niche of

    Bark, Bargain, & Bring Onboard
The popular junior Democratic Senator, Barack Obama, told Time Magazine (2/20/06), "I probably always feel on some level I can persuade anybody I talk to."Wow. I wish I could do that. How do we get other people to do what we want? When I was a kid, my life was all commands: "Clean your room." "Get in the car." "Put some clothes on, people are coming over." And if I ever asked "why," I got the same respon
Because of curiosity and my love of all things Internet related, more than three years ago I attended a bloggers’ get together. When asked if I had a blog, my answer was that “I do so much writing already, why would I ever need or enjoy creating a blog?” Since that memorable evening I read a few blogs, but still felt no desire to have one of my own. And then, it happened! I was bombarded by glowing reports of the importance of and marketing payoffs of having a blog.

In this article I share a description of blogs and blogging, the pros and cons of blogs, and the easiest way to set up your own blog.

Understand what a blog is and how blogs have become so popular. A blog (short for web log), is a personal website updated frequently with links, commentary and anything else you want to write about. New items go on top and older items flow down the page. Blogs can be political journals and/or personal diaries; they can focus on one narrow subject or range across a plethora of topics.

Consider the pros of setting up a blog.

THE COMING GERIATRIC INVASION: The Aging of the American Marketplace
Recently, the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce presented a seminar entitled, "Reaching the Hispanic Population." The gist of the message? "The Hispanics are coming! The Hispanics are coming!" The marketplace had better get ready because the browning of America is happening VERY quickly and, as a whole, many of us are very unfamiliar with this market. But something else is happening on a daily basis and it is no respe

Your Ad Made The Phone Ring-Now Make The Sale!
The biggest part of selling isn’t persuasion. It’s not about being a glib, silver-tongued devil. It’s about earning the chance to sell.Like a ballplayer, you can’t hit a home run by warming the bench. You have to get into the game, take the bat off your shoulders, and swing at some hittable pitches. You need opportunities, chances to succeed. Most companies develop these chances through advertising that

          Seven Principles for Business
Document the definitions for your business, organization, or your role in the organization. If you can document it, you can share it. However, would your definitions be aligned with everyone else in your organization or your customers?can be political journals and/or personal diaries; they can focus on one narrow subject or range across a plethora of topics.

          • Blogs give the writer and writers a way to post opinions, how tos and articles -- both short and long -- with freedom to express ideas without censure.
          • Blogs help improve writing and thinking. When we are forced to publicly express ourselves through the written word, it is my opinion that we become better writers.
          • Blogs avoid the spam filters that are causing havoc with our e-newsletters.
          • The search engines are checking and listing blog articles more quickly and regularly than websites, because of the continual updating of content.

What are the cons of setting up a blog?

          • A blog is a commitment to keeping content fresh and new, so when writers become frantic about keeping up they can lag behind on quality.
          • Unlike e-mail that just shows up in someone mailbox, blogs must be accessed by the reader - there are, however, ways to list the blogs one wants to visit regularly.
          • Many blogs are boring journals/diaries filled with personal information of little interest to the general population. These give blogs and blogging a “bad name.” But, we must also remembe
