    Selling To Your Difficult Person
We all have people whom we find difficult. We don't understand them, connect with them, or even talk comfortably with them. But, when we own a one person business, seeing someone as difficult gets in the way of our selling effectively and their buying wisely. It is easy to blame the other person. They're the difficult ones. But, the truth is, if you find someone difficult, for sure they will find you just as difficult. And, if you're difficult they won't want to work with you. They'll take their business elsewhere. It's just human nature to dig in our heals when we're irritated. We want them to change. We want them to be like the folks we find easy to deal with

Technology Tips To Make Life Easier
I'm feeling good. Actually I'm feeling great. My three weeks of dealing with neurotic computer systems had a happy ending.I'll briefly explain - but first a sidebar. In my last newsletter, When Your Stress Meter Makes You Want To Scream, I recapped my frustration with the technology stuff I was dealing with.Since this letter is dedicated to No-Brainer Selling Tips I shared four tips on how to handle stressful situations. Obviously, selling can be stressful. So what happens - I got dozens of e-mails from you. All but one shared similar experiences, words of encouragement, and some of you even said you changed your plans to buy a new Dell computer. But o
Recently I decided to stretch my athletic abilities and add a running program to my regular exercise routine. Although I had tried to run in the past, my level of success was pretty pathetic. This time, however, I decided to follow my own advice and find some expert runners who could teach me how to run. And that is exactly what I did.

    The Marketing of Questions
He who asks questions is attempting to be in control. That fact can be observed in any dialog. Asking questions directs the responses, and directs the dialog.Questioning can take one of three forms:1. Manipulative questioningThis is the riskiest of the three forms, somewhat resembling sleight-of-hand tactics. This is guiding responses in an orderly, progressive fashion that leads to a desired final result, but this method can backfire. The 'victim" of this type of questioning can begin to feel backed into a corner, and ultimately resist any offer. These kinds of questions resemble this example: "You would have to admit that convenience is a major priorit

Outsourcing Aircraft Washing Services for FBOs
Many industry sub-sectors make a habit of outsourcing their operational needs. In aviation it is amazing the amount of outsourcing, which takes place. It makes sense in a way to outsource non-core operational needs to other companies, such as aircraft washing. For over 27-years my company; AircraftWashguys.com existed for the most part in servicing these aviation businesses from Corporate Aircraft Departments, Flying Clubs, Airlines and Fixed Based Operators. Why, because a specialty niche service based business like an aircraft washing service can wash these aircraft more efficiently and faster.Additionally we now know that with unemployment so low that hiring peripheral staff s

Your postcard-marketing program can benefit from a good checklist. Checklists keep us focused on the task at hand and help us remember all of the finer points. Doctors use them. Prioritizing for a Highly Effective and Successful, Busy Life
You are ready to start working on creating or building your business. In my last article, on time management, one of the very first tips on how best to manage your time was to prioritize. For many people, by just asking them what they most want to accomplish will help them prioritize, but for others, they may still be stumped. HOW do we prioritize? How can we really determine what is most important? Helping you answer these questions is the focus of this article.Being most effective When people start to think about how best to prioritize, usually the reason is they want the most results possible out of the time they have available. Prioritizing includes two steps: Determining

What I lack in skill and endurance, I make up for in competitiveness, so I clocked in a mile at 9:28 (9 minutes and 28 seconds). While this may seem paltry for an experienced runner, I can assure you that it was a major accomplishment for me. During this speed test, I began to see outstanding leadership qualities of one of my coaches emerge. Vera, one of the trainers, was absolutely thrilled with my time. She told me what a wonderful time it was for someone so new to running. I started to think t
