The Headaches Of Getting A Merchant Account
If you're going to run any type of online business then the ability to accept payments via credit card, or through a merchant account, is critical. Why? Because people just don't use money anymore. We live in a plastic society, as evidenced by the mounting credit card debt in the United States alone. We are a people of the philosophy, "give it to me now, I'll pay for it later." It is doubtful that is going to change anytime soon.So just how do you go about getting a merchant account and what are the things you should know and look out for when doing so?For starters, there are 3 ways to get a merchant account.1. Get one from the bank you already deal with.2. Use a broker or intermediary to gain your own merchant account.3. Use a third party service. The easiest way of course is to get one through the bank you already deal with. The problem, however, is that most large banks are reluctant to give merchant accounts to new small businesses. Many banks require up to 12 months of audited accounts of your business. If you're just starting up, this of course, is not possible. Because of the greater risk of fraud, since the card does not have to be swiped and signed for, banks are very reluctant to give merchant accounts to new businesses. Banks are starting to come around slowly but given the economic climate of today it would probably be a better choice to get a merchant account through the second method mentioned above, and that is through a broker or intermediary. These brokers or companies form what they call a defens

There is also a rare, but serious, form of fatty liver that begins late in pregnancy which has the possibility of leading to jaundice and liver failure. In the real of non-dietary causes, Fatty Liver Syndrome may be caused by certain drug overdoses or chemical poisonings. Some of the medications and substances that can cause fatty liver include amiodarone, methotrexate, high doses of vitamin A, tetracycline, cortisone, phosphorus, prednisone and carbon tetrachloride. Carbon tetrachloride is one of the chemicals that can injure the liver in a way that makes the liver cells accumulate fat.

    What's Next for Internet Browsers?
With new browsers coming out all of the time, no one can really predict what the future holds for internet browsing. As of right now, most people who surf the internet use Internet Explorer (IE) as their browser of choice. Over the past years IE has not really changed that much, and since Internet Explorer has a monopoly over other browsers, it really doesn’t have to. The fact is though, that the Internet Explorer browser and some other browsers could be much better. There are many browsers to choose from on the internet, with a variety of features, but what we want is one browser that has it all.The perfect browser would be one with great security and complete compatibility with all Web standards. It is very hard to make a browser that can display every website that uses old Web standards, and display new and more advanced websites using new Web standards. The perfect browser would be one that could seamlessly integrate with plug-ins and other add-ons that are available on the net today. The hardest part would really be designing a browser that runs ActiveX and other Web technologies without compromising files outside of the browser, without the user having to deal with security alerts and other nuances. If a company were to get the opportunity to design a browser that actually suits everyone’s needs, they would have to balance between those who make Web sites and those who view them. Also, the ability to block pop up ads and other annoyances should be available at the touch of a key. Another feature that should be mandatory is the ability to download the
Should we be so surprised at the epidemic of childhood and adolescent we are now facing? Were we unable to see that a diet consisting of hydrogenated and processed fats, fried foods and super-starches would not come back to haunt us? With childhood obesity already a pervasive problem we are learning about the related complications and diseases that this extreme condition is exacerbating in our children. At first the weight gain was a disturbing footnote in our modern world. But then we were introduced to childhood diabetes, heart conditions, and sky high cholesterol numbers. While serious in their impacts to a growing bodies health, their occurrence may take a back seat to what could be the greatest problem to encounter the collective declining health of our children. This emerging medical issue is known as Fatty Liver Syndrome.

    What is Fatty Liver Syndrome?

Simply put conditions known as Fatty Liver Syndrome arise when the body’s liver starts accumulating fat. According to the Liver Society the statistical population numbers for Fatty Liver Syndrome are 10-20 percent. While the accumulation of fat in the liver is not normal, it in and of itself is not currently known to be harmful or cause permanent damage. One of the livers functions is producing a form of fat known as triglycerides. These are important for new cell production and are necessary to produce hormones such as estrogen, testosterone, and adrenal hormones. In the liver of a patient with Fatty Liver Syndrome, the liver cells accumulate large droplets of fat that consist of mostly triglycerides. In normal liver operation, fat from the diet is metabolized by the liver and other tissues.

If the amount of fat exceeds the body's requirement, large fat accumulations may develop in the liver, which results in an increase in liver enzymes and inflammation. This inflammation can cause scarring and hardening of the liver (cirrhosis) and results in decreased liver function.

The types of Fatty Liver Syndrome

The disease popularly known as Fatty Liver Syndrome includes a range of liver conditions. There are listed here in the order of severity.

    Fatty Liver (steatosis).

The most common condition. Fatty Liver Syndrome is the accumulation of fat in the liver cells. This condition typically does not result in damage to the liver and is not associated with other liver abnormalities. The scarring or inflammation of the liver typically is not present. Of the three conditions this one is asymptomatic with most patients unaware of their condition.

    Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

The most common form of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Patients who have NASH typically have an inflammation of the liver as a result of its accumulation of fat. At this point the liver may not have scarring present. If left untreated NASH may lead to cirrhosis. According to the Liver Society NASH affects 2 to 5 percent of Americans

    Cirrhosis.

Cirrhosis is the result of an inflammation left untreated for years. The danger occurs if it may progresses into cirrhosis of the liver. At this point the liver will more than likely have scar tissue. A liver with Cirrhosis encounters progressive and irreversible liver damage.

    What causes it?

As with many liver ailments the most common cause of fatty liver syndrome is alcohol abuse. But this may soon be eclipsed by its non-alcoholic variety, steatohepatitus (NASH) In all varieties of steatohepatitis the condition is brought on or aggravated by malnutrition, obesity, diabetes mellitus, Hepatitis C virus, Wilson's disease, hyperlipidemia or endocrine disorders, and Reye's syndrome in children. There is also a rare, but serious, form of fatty liver that begins late in pregnancy which has the possibility of leading to jaundice and liver failure. Major Costs Associated With Selling a Home For Profit
Have you ever watched those popular real estate flipping shows that seem to dominate the home and do it yourself networks? They make it seem so easy to make a profit flipping real estate. First, they begin by telling you how much a property was purchased for. After tallying up the construction costs and subtracting them from the amount that the property sold for, they produce a number that is supposed to be the amount of profit that the investor put in his pocket. Sometimes these numbers are astronomical and too good to be true. While many investors make a phenomenal amount of money through real estate investing and flipping properties in particular, there are numerous costs associated with selling a property that documentary shows like those mentioned above just do not mention. These costs can reach into the thousands of dollars, so it is important that you become familiar with each and every one of them before you start counting your profit. The most expensive cost associated with selling a home is the real estate agent or brokerage fee. This is the percentage that your broker takes directly out of your profit for securing a buyer and making a sale. Normally these fees average about 5 to 6 percent, but they can vary according to the sale price of the property and the area that it is located. If you do not wish to hire an agent, you will still have to figure in costs of advertising the property and taking time out to show the property yourself. All of which can add up pretty quickly.Inspections are another expense tha

Cisco CCNP / BCMSN Exam Tutorial: Configuring CGMP On Routers & Switches
If a Layer Two switch doesn't have the capabilities to run IGMP Snooping, it will be able to run CGMP - Cisco Group Membership Protocol. CGMP allows the multicast router to work with the Layer Two switch to eliminate unnecessary multicast forwarding.CGMP will be enabled on both the multicast router and the switch, but the router's going to do all the work. The router will be sending Join and Leave messages to the switch as needed. PIM must be running on the router interface facing the switch before enabling CGMP, as you can see:R1(config)#int e0R1(config-if)#ip cgmpWARNING: CGMP requires PIM enabled on interfaceR1(config-if)#ip pim sparseR1(config-if)#ip cgmpWhen CGMP is first enabled on both the multicast router and switch, the router will send a CGMP Join message, informing the switch that a multicast router is now connected to it. This particular CGMP Join will contain a Group Destination Address (GDA) of 0000.0000.0000 and the MAC address of the sending interface. The GDA is used to identify the multicast group, so when this is set to all zeroes, the switch knows this is an introductory CGMP Join, letting the switch know that the multicast router is online. The switch makes an entry in its MAC table that this router can be found off the port that the CGMP Join came in on. The router will send a CGMP Join to the switch every minute to serve as a keepalive.A workstation connected to the switch on port 0/5 now wishes to join multicast group 225.1.1.1. The Join message is sent to the multicast router,

    Underground Strength Training
Being an underground group is a euphemism for a subculture with unifying beliefs. The subculture could be related to politics or music or religion. But it is usually a tight group of people that believe in their cause with a passion. If you believe in exercising and developing strength, there is no reason to go underground. Strength training is a subject that is not whispered about behind closed doors or in dark tunnels. It is a current health issue topic that has value for everyone.Underground Strength Training – Radical ChangeOften a subculture has radical views, which is one reason why they go underground. Strength training is viewed as radical exercise by some, but the truth is it is just good physical conditioning sense. You can always become a radical and workout with weights for hours every day.But the average person does not have the time or desire for such an intensive program. What they want is strength training that conditions and tone and provides basic good health.- Maximum muscle strength related to good physical condition- Strength endurance- Muscle Flexibility- Balance and coordinationMost people who go to the gym aren't looking for a radical underground. Strength training is more a program to create well being and improve general conditioning. Many want good muscle tone, but not bulging muscles. But there are men and women who need high intensity strength training. If there were an underground group of exercise radicals, they might sign up!- Athletes in all sports who

Microsoft Vista News: Downloads, Extended XP Support, And One Billion Dollars
There’s been quite a bit of news regarding Microsoft Vista downloads and options lately, so here's a quick recap for you!In the past, Microsoft has supported an OS version for two years after releasing a new one. CNN’s website has reported that MS has announced that they will offer what they call “extended support” for XP for five years after the initial two-year support ends in 2009. What’s the catch? The extended support will cost you. No exact fees have been released, but MS reports they expect most support in that five-year period to carry a fee. You’ve probably heard that Microsoft will offer Vista via download as well as the traditional methods, but did you know home users will be able to upgrade from one home Vista version to another? That’s the theory, according to MS. When a user decides they want to pay more for a more robust version of Vista, they’ll be able to do so without another download or full install. Of course, money will be involved! The user will be prompted for payment, and after doing so, the appropriate Vista features will then be available. (Source: MSNBC website.)Finally, The Wall Street Journal announced that Microsoft's net income fell 28% as revenue edged up to $12.54 billion. That doesn't include one billion dollars in deferred sales of Vista and the new MS Office. Dr. Evil was unavailable for comment, but even he’d say that’s pretty good money, deferred or not!

Even for those of you that are hearing about this for the first time the subject of the liver and fat seems oddly familiar. Ever hear of foie gras? That’s French right? Yes, Martha it’s French all right, French for fatty liver! (For those of you doubters translate the words “fatty liver” via the Google Translate tool into French and see what you get.) Even the beer&BBQ types know that to make foie gras you funnel a large amount of fat down some French goose’s throat! The liver grows twice the size of normal and before the goose becomes a patient in the French healthcare system he is boxed up by some French Pate house. For those of you who have connected the dots, we are basically turning ourselves in to human pate. The “fatting up” process is something of our own design and own freewill. We trade cages for lazyboys, and the quacking for the bleeps of video games.

Most people are familiar with cirrhosis of the liver, and typically attribute this disorder to the long term effects of alcohol. The heavy use of alcohol leads to fatty liver and inflammation called alcoholic hepatitis, but known to the majority of the population as cirrhosis of the liver.

Symptoms of NASH or Fatty Liver

Most individuals diagnosed with these conditions previously exhibited little if any symptoms or complaints. Some individuals do experience symptoms and here is a brief list:

Jaundice, right-side abdominal pain, abdominal swelling, and fever overall itchiness, and small yellow skin nodules,

    How is it diagnosed?

Fatty Liver Syndrome and NASH are usually detected as the result laboratory tests yielding abnormal data. In a majority of the situations the lab work was being performed for unrelated issues. In other cases the liver is tender upon examination and is found to be enlarged. The typical results from laboratory tests include the elevation of liver enzymes. These enzymes are typical AST and ALT. If you results are severe enough to warrant testing your doctor my recommend an ultrasound. Other imaging methods include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or a computerized tomography (CT) scan. Ultimately it is a physical examination (if needed) that confirms the condition of Fatty Liver Syndrome or NASH. This examination is consists of a microscopic examination of a sample of liver tissue (biopsy).

    How is it treated?

As of this moment treatment for fatty liver syndrome consists of eliminating or treating the cause of the condition. It is believed that most cases of fatty liver syndrome are reversible. As with many curable diseases and disorders fatty liver syndrome is reversible if caught early in its development stages. Regardless of the background cause it should be the goal of the patient to develop a healthy diet. Since there are no miracle drugs associated with NASH or Fatty Liver Syndrome, people are looking to vitamin and mineral supplements as components in healing. If left untreated, NASH and Fatty Liver Syndrome can result in severe liver damage. In cases like these, the patient may eventually require the extreme measure of a liver transplant.

How can Fatty Liver Syndrome be avoided?

To avoid fatty liver adopt and follow these guidelines:

Follow a low-fat and low-cholesterol diet Exercise regularly to maintain an ideal weight.

Establish a regimen to insure your body is receiving the necessary and essential vitamins and minerals.

Avoid alcohol Review medications to ensure that they aren't toxic to your liver.

Have blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels checked regularly

Nutritional causes are treated by impacting the availability of fat and modifying how it enters the liver. As many nutritional causes tend to be rooted in diet deficiencies this can be accomplished by providing available carbohydrates or by adding pr
