    What Is Business Mentoring?
Everyone in business can benefit from having a business mentor, business mentoring simply means having someone around who you can share your ideas with and they can give their thoughts back to you about your ideas, as well as bringing in their own. This essentially can take a huge weight off your shoulders, as you not only have someone to test your ideas and thoughts out on, but also you are able to gain from their experiences in business. Business mentoring while being a Godsend to anyone in business is especially useful for those who are just starting out in business. All business mentors will ha

Bill Gates, Virtual Reality, and Six Flags
Does bill Gates know something we do not know about Six Flags amusement parks? No probably not, but anyone as smart as he, certainly understands the future of Virtual Reality. Look at the new X-Box 360-degree system? Obviously Microsoft gets it and their research teams may have entered the Virtual Reality Realm a little late, but they certainly understand gaming. Mr. Gate’s increased his holding in the company from 8% to 10%. There can only be one reason in my opinion, Virtual Reality is coming to a theme park near you. This probably makes a bit of sense and also a rebounding economy tends to really bolster
When faced with a problem, our instinct is to attempt to solve the problem straightaway. A Smart Thinking strategist is likely to adopt a different approach. They ask: Should I really solve the problem, diverting my energy, resources and time towards it? If the problem is insignificant or if it is a problem that is not worth the effort, why waste the resources in the first place? The most important benefit of this type of thinking is you are able to maximize the use of your resources. According to Nadler and Hibino in their book titled Breakthrough Thinking: The Seven Principles of Creative Problem Solving, they argue that competent people approach a problem by ‘questioning the purpose of solving it’. This strategy enhances the effectiveness of managing the problems.

The authors citing research that document the breakthrough solutions to problems list the following seven basic principles for effective problem solving.

    • Each problem should be seen as unique – Despite the presence of similarities between problems for each encounter, we must learn to recognize that when solving each aspect of the problem we must consider the uniqueness of the situational needs (context). Only then we will be able to develop solutions that will meet the unique situational needs.
    • Focus on the reasons for solving the problem – This is essential if you would like to minimize the waste of resources – money, materials, manpower, machinery and methods. Only when we are able to focus on the purpose(s) we are in a position to view the larger picture of the situation. Instead of asking what is going on here and what is wrong, learn to ask what are we attempting to achieve out of this situation. This will trigger our mind to seek a large number of desired solutions. To keep going for more and more solutions, we should learn to ask: “What else…?”. This will help us to develop as many solutions as possible.

      Fun Ideas in Sports Fundraising
Fundraising can be a really daunting task. After all, it will not be easy to convince someone to part with their hard-earned money. You need to provide them with a very good reason or give an incentive that they cannot refuse! There are actually a lot of things that one can do for a fundraising campaign with sports in mind. You can sell stuff, provide service or just ask for donations. The list is endless.Of course, the kind of campaign that you will be instituting will not only generate income for your organization but will also determine the kind of image that you will be projecting to potential

        Fundraising, A Revolutionary New Method!
One of the biggest obstacles faced by non-profit organizations on a regular basis is – you guessed it – fundraising. We’re all aware of the most basic and common fundraisers since we see them all the time; carwashes, bake sales, dinners, raffles, and the list goes on. Isn’t there a better alternative? Read on…Depending on the size of the organization, these can be relatively profitable. A private school in my area held a holiday dinner, with a turnout of about 500 people. Factor in a donation of about $20 per person to eat, and $

Bootstrapping Your Business - Get Real - Get Started
Ditch the business plan and buy a lottery ticket. That's what I tell new entrepreneurs who seek angel or venture funding. The odds are probably better, you will save yourself a lot of time and grief and you'll get results sooner with the lottery. If you have a great idea that can change the world, then bootstrap your way until you can prove it. Funding will come just when you don't need it.I've mentored and helped fund dozens of entrepreneurs over the past few years. There always seems to be a “catch-22” — you need seed financing but no one will give you a cent until you have a marketable product with p

Factors to Think of for Club Flyers Production
More often people disregard the print materials they receive. They don’t give them importance and after which it always ends up in trash cans. So as a business it is very frustrating that what you had made just ended up there. With the kind of situation you had observed, maybe you will think what you have done why people disregarded your material.Among the many materials that you can use are the club flyers. They are effective in a way that they can be sent via mail and distributed by hand. Simple as they are yet they can be the most powerful material that you can use.As per the printing producti

        • Seek solutions with a long-term perspective – Whenever possible identify the ideal and desired solutions and then work backward, so that you can work on practical short-term solutions that will become part of the long-term solutions. The authors describe this practice as ‘The Solution-After-Next Principle’.
        • View the problem(s) from a systems approach – Once we learn to view each problem as part of something else, we are beginning to adopt a systems approach in managing problem. The realization that each problem we face is part of larger problem enables us to anticipate the problem(s) we may face when implementing the solutions. This will enable us to develop appropriate strategies we are likely to encounter in implementing solutions.
        • Learn to work with minimal information – Many of us are trained to seek out a full set of information that is complete and comprehensive when managing problems and work related challenges. Having too much of information in hand may prevent us from considering new and innovative solutions. The intuitive element goes missing with too much of information.
        • Keep the people factor in mind when developing solutions – As far as possible, involve the people in developing solutions. Their participation and involvement are critical for the overall success of the proposed solution. Keep the solutions broad and flexible so that those who will be managing the solution will have some degree of flexibility. A Standard Operating Procedure type of solutions should be avoided.
        • Incorporate timeline principle – Each purpose developed to manage the problems should be in the right sequence. Only then we can maximize the outcome of the breakthrough solutions.
