    Think Like an Entrepreneur
In order to be successful in business you must treat it like a business. Hopefully we enjoyed college life, the military, or had fun and games in an earlier period in our life.Once you start a company you are in the business zone. That is correct, in business there is no time for fun and games unless you exceeded your co

Once I even went to Outback and purchase $350 worth of gift cards in $50 denominations. I gave them out to the employees of my favorite and most profitable title company at Christmas time. This gesture of appreciation made

10 Keys to Getting Paid What You're Worth!
Asking for money is so taboo in our culture that most of us shake in our shoes when we think about negotiating salary. It conjures up our insecurities about not being good enough, not knowing enough, or not being considered valuable enough. We worry that the company will rescind its offer if we ask for what we’re worth.T
My mother always told me that you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. But I always wondered why anyone would want to catch flies. I guess she was saying you’d get further in life by being nice to others than being mean and stingy. As a result of mother’s sage wisdom, I live by this principle in both my business and personal relationship.

In my notary business I try to implement this philosophy whenever possible. Aside from treating everyone with respect, I also try to remember the small things like names and birthdays. You’d be surprised at how much the little things mean to people.

Aside from this, I periodically buy lunches for title companies and lenders. This small token of appreciation has dramatically increased my bottom line. It may cost you $50 to buy pizza or subs from a local deli, but that small investment could turn into thousands of dollars in profit. By simply buying lunch, you instill in the minds of those over worked employees a sense of appreciation. The next time a signing comes across their desk, it will be you that they call. Your competition doesn’t understand the universal law of reciprocity and as a result won’t grow at the same rate as you.

Why a Permanent Job is Bad for You (2) - The Personal Costs
The day we sign on the dotted line for a permanent job, especially in the public services, certain surreptitious things begin to happen. Like a worm, knowledge of our new situation slithers ominously into our consciousness until the final acknowledgement that our salary is there for life, or as long as we want it, and we don't

Window Cleaning Tip- It's Window Cleaning, NOT Window Washing
Whether you already own a window cleaning company or you are looking at starting your own window cleaning business. One of the first things you need to get squared away in your head is that you are a ‘window cleaner’ and in the window ‘cleaning’ business, NOT a window washer in the window washing business. You may think that th

The Pros And Cons Of Personnel In The Translation Business
Are you planning to set up a translation business? Then there are two or three fundamental questions you will need to consider if you want your business to be a success. One of these, and in fact the most obvious one, is how to attract clients. However, the marketing effort and insight needed to tackle the issue of client acqui

Once I even went to Outback and purchase $350 worth of gift cards in $50 denominations. I gave them out to the employees of my favorite and most profitable title company at Christmas time. This gesture of appreciation made me an additional $10k to $15k over the course of the following year from one title company. Imagine if you made all your customers feel that appreciated.

Another way to keep them coming back is to remember all birthdays and holidays. I always send greeting cards to my customers on their birthdays. And I also send holiday greeting cards around Christmas time and New Years. This simple gesture of kindness will galvanize a place in the hearts and minds of your customers. Think about it, just sending a fifty cents card with postage could be worth thousands.

The point is you can keep your customers coming back to you for your signing service. Admittedly, you must do a good thorough job, but by showing your appreciation for their business can be worth more than you know.
