Today we will talk a little more about link development as this is the key to getting your site ranked highly on search engines. Google ranks all sites on a scale from 0 to 10, 10 being the highest. Your aim is to get your site as high a page ranking (PR) as possible. One of the main ways to do this is by link development. The idea is to get many as many sites (preferably on a related topic) as possible to link to your site, without having to link back to them. This can be achieved in many different ways. Today we have experimented with a few and will cover more as the site progresses.
1. Submitting to free directories-Not ideal but gets the ball rolling.
2. Another method is to write directly to the web master of sites with a similar topic as your own. To locate these sites we entered keywords on google similar to what we have indeed used ourselves to get a list of addresses; then construct a letter to the web master requesting a link, it is a good idea to link to their site first then ask for a reciprocal link.

Today I will look begin to look at some of the marketing techniques we have discovered to promote your site. To start promoting your site immediately we recommend google word sense. When I first started staying at the Neptune Motel, they had a decent continental breakfast with a good selection of donuts, bread for toast, muffins, fresh fruit and more. On this page we will endeavour to explain to you through regular posts, what we are doing regarding the development of this web site. As mentioned in the welcome page, this is an experiment into ways to make money online through various methods of marketing. The steps taken to reach this point are:
1. Identify a suitable domain name. - To do this we used a site called pickaweb in conjunction with the overture keyword checker tool. By experimenting with keywords related to your theme you can select a suitable domain name; then using pickaweb you can register that domain name and set up a hosting package. There are many hosting companies available so we would advise you to search around to find one that adequately meets your needs. Pickaweb offers an excellent online web site builder and thousands of templates to choose from. Our Business/Web Design section contains some useful tools.
2. Once your domain name has been registered it is time to start constructing your web site. At first it is best to get some of the content into your site and publish it. This provides search engines something to read apart from an under construction page.
3. Now for site submission-some good submission tools can be found in the links section of this site. It is recommended to submit to the likes of google and yahoo immediately, as it will take some time for them to look at your site.
