Member You - How to provide Superior Customer Service
Leaders Awake; This is Urgent and Important hem know that you are no longer going to do business there and why. Sometimes business owners or managers do not know there is a problem until you let them know, so make sure you tell them. Once we start changing our views on what we accept as customer service, the businesses will adapt to start pleasing us better. It makes sense, doesn't it!We have seen the headlines in every country from time to time. If something is not done about "A" then the country will suffer the bad consequences "B". We see and hear a strident call from government to get behind a display of leadership to take a little pain so to get a lot of gain in a few years. We have all also probably experienced it at some time in organisations we work for; the call to arms that tells us of an impending doom if we do not change our ways. And yet, nine times out of ten, it seems to me, the call is heard for a short time and then falls quiet against the soundproofing walls of organisational and individual inertia. Why is it so? Why is it that when good men and women have analysed a situation, understood the cause and effect and with no little passion and clarity of argument determined that urgent and important solutions need to be implemented to a current or looming problem, that the passion dies, and alongside it, the clarity of argument? What is it that prevents good people from not only maintaining a sense of urgency about what must be done, but also leads them in a merry dance chasing sub-goals rather than the main goal? What is it that makes them forget the initial purpose of the call As for all of you employees an Self-Promoting Yourself into a Job As many of you know, I have made it my mission to change the world's view point of customer service. Too many people today have just accepted the fact that no matter where they go, they will receive less than acceptable customer service. THAT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE!If you’re like most people, you’ve never written a press release to call attention to a success you’ve had.And rightly so.But some of you should be sending out press releases or encouraging your company to promote things that you and your group are doing because they are significant. And most of you can be doing the next best thing to a press release:The periodic noteAn old friend of mine would mail a note to all of her friends bring them up-to-date on the things that were going on in her life, her professional successes, accomplishments and, occasionally, the frustrations. It allowed her to stay in contact with lot of people who would offer her advice, suggestions and jobs.Today, with email, it is much easier than before.Every 6 months, send an email to all of your friends, acquaintances and former colleagues to bring them up-to-date. Skip the complaints about your boss. Former colleagues may be in contact with them and you don’t want to generate problems. It’s easy to add people to Outlook and other products like it; you can also use services like Plaxo (www.plaxo.com) that host your rolodex online and allow others to connect with you, too.Any way you look at it, sinc When we work so hard for the money we have, why spend it at a business establishment (no matter what type of business) that provides you less than superior customer service? Does it really make sense to hand your money over that way? Still not clear... okay, let me present this to you in another way. You go to a restaurant and ask for a steak. The waitress brings you out a piece of chicken. You shrug your shoulders and say, "okay, that's fine." Furthermore, you eat the chicken and still leave the waitress a tip...would you really accept that? No, of course not! But that is the type of unacceptable customer service we are receiving in other places of business and just nodding our heads, and saying okay! STOP THE MADNESS PEOPLE! What used to be very expensive, cumbersome and hard to configure systems are now very reasonable, easy to configure , and easy to maintain, and they provide much more versatility and usefulness than just a few years ago. When choosing system components the first decision you need to make is what are you using it for. Once we start changing our views on what we accept as customer service, the businesses will adapt to start pleasing us better. It makes sense, doesn't it!Today everyone knows at least one person who has lost their job to down-sizing, right-sizing, cut-backs, production reduction or a mean, vicious “bogus leader” who could care less about your family, your life or your existence at the company. This may sound a bit overboard, but everyone has probably experienced the manager, supervisor or company leader from hell, and if you haven’t just stick around. It is this type of leadership that is taking companies down the path of death and destruction. So what’s a jobless person to do? First you must get organized and do a serious self examination. Look at the things you love to do, your gifts and talents. This is not fluff, you may be at the best time of your life if you are willing to get real and do some serious work. You cannot expect others to do this for you, you have to own the unemployment label, and decide where you want to go from here. Leave the pity party for later.Do you have a charismatic personality? Have you ever done sales? Can’t live knowing that your life depends on you getting a commission? Try it.
