Courses are offered year round from night school programs, correspondence or over the Internet. A winner will have study goals set for each upcoming year. They are constantly researching to see what skills or abilities will make them more marketable. Considering that the average full time job lasts between two and three years, the odds are pretty good that your next job will not be your last. Knowing this, it doesn’t make sense to stick to the same set of skills or knowledge base and expect to be continually employed or employable. Only the foolish employee would live under the illusion that the next job won’t require additional skills. Considering that many of the jobs that will be coming their way will be attached to new technologies or ways of doing business, to not seek new skills is to condemn themselves to obsolescence.
